T1 Rentals deploys brand new 165T Manitowoc crawler crane at NOVA BALA project

July 22, 2020 by Franz Kevin C. Buenaseda

Upon lifting of Metro Manila’s Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) last May 2020, the T1 Rentals’ operations team mobilized its brand new 165T Manitowoc lattice type crawler crane, for a yearlong project at the La Mesa Dam site of the Novaliches Balara Aqueduct IV project in Quezon City.

The new crane is currently being used with T1 Rentals’ brand new PTC vibratory hammer to install board piling materials along the banks of the water reservoir.

The NBAQ4 project is part of Manila Water’s improvement and expansion initiatives in the East Concession Area in coordination with the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS). One of the largest and most important infrastructure projects it has undertaken to date, it involves the construction of a new intake facility at the La Mesa reservoir, a 7.3 kilometer underground aqueduct passing under Commonwealth Avenue, and an outlet facility at the Balara Water Treatment Plant.
